Doesn’t a year go quickly? The What Now? Young Person’s Consultation Event is upon us again and we hope its going to be the best one yet!!
The event is being held at Plungington Youth and Community Centre on Saturday the 28th of April 2007.
The aim of the day is to bring young people from all around Lancashire together to help us produce our new products for 2008. Those who attend will take an active part in writing, designing and taking photography for our Handbook, CD Rom and Website. As well as this, you can get involved in some fun and creative activities including DJing, MCing, Dance, Graffiti Art, Photography, Writing and Web Design workshops.
There are many advantages to attending the event. The things you write and the photographs you take will be put forward to be included within the book, website and CD-Rom. If you choose, your name and a group photo will be printed in the book to show that you have been involved in the production of it. Best of all, you will receive a personalised copy of the 2008 handbook and certificate recognising your participation – something you can include in your record of achievement.
So come along and enjoy the great activities and the scummy food!!

we are three girls from Chorley Youth Council . . . . .
we had a good consultation day overall . . it was much more exciting than we expected =)
at the start of the day we did a big group activity which helped us get to know each other better and talk to new people we then chose 2 activities to do in the morning. In my opinion the staff were VERY helpful and kind.
First of all we took the photography workshop, we had no idea what was to come!!
In here we first played an introductory memory game, we had to say our name and an animals name beginning with the first letter of our name after it, we had to do this until everyone had done it But we also had to say what the person before us had said. This workshop was taken by Steve – he was a Great tutor.
For the rest of the workshop we took some photos for the ‘what now’ young peoples handbook, we were allowed to work freely and in the way we were comfortable – this made the activity more enjoyable.
The second activy we did was graphic design, in here we designed icons for the handbook again and we were asked what we thought of the icons the grapic designers had made, we all were quite critical!!
After we had completed this workshop we had luch, the was good, we liked how the workers had taken into account our special dietry needs.
In the afternoon, us three were given the oppurtunity to go around taking photos of the groups and any other ones which we thought would be relevent to the handbook. We (obviously) took this oppurtunity and it was So much fun!
(i am writing this just after taking some pictures)
I would like to thank all the people who organised this event and made it a great success.
special thanks to Nina, Steve and Daz =]
